A Miracle
On February 5th, 2018 a baby was born and that baby was Elijah. The moment I held him I knew he was going to be so special. He made my heart open up and realize that there is more to life than just paying attention to my phone. He was my brother, So courageous and kind. He opened up my eyes. He changed my entire life and the way I perceived things. Before he was born I was so careless and free. I thought why care if there is no one to care for. But I was not entirely careless I still cared but I didn’t care enough. He made me care for the little things in life.
Every time I come home from school I walk in the door and I see him smiling waving his hand at me to try to say hi. When I am sad I can just go out of my room and run up to him just to see him laugh or smile because when he is happy I am happy. He can cheer anyone up just as if he is the doctor that is a miracle worker. Regardless of who you are or what you are he can make your day go from horrible to amazing in just a quick snap. He is the fruit to my salad, the peanut butter to my jelly, the ying to my yang. He is my best friend.
He has impacted my entire life because now I know that there will be someone to care for regardless of the consequences. No matter how hard life is I look at him and think wow you really can change a person’s life. He made me become who I am in this past year. Everyday I see him and think wow life is beautiful. Even the worst days can come out to be a beautiful ending. Obviously on the way there were many obstacles. The family that I was had of four then became five. There were many long nights at the hospital, In and out and in back again.
There were many days I had to help my mom because she was in a lot of pain. Sometimes I had to step up and help. Many days I spent with my grandma and my brother Isaiah because my mom was unable to do many things. All of the sleepless nights and horrible pains she had were because something so beautiful was the outcome. He Elijah has changed my whole life and made me pay attention to the littlest most beautiful things in life. Even the bad days too. He is indeed a miracle.
I did learn my lessons about how I needed to be more generous not just because I had a new baby coming to my house more because he made me think just because everyone else is not a baby doesn’t mean they don’t have feelings either. I had learned to be generous. I also had to learn to be caring and care for others. He Elijah himself has made me a better person.
